Anthroposophic Medicine is a form of traditional, complementary and integrative  medicine. It is rooted in the science-based medicine of the present, but takes into account the whole human being in its method, diagnosis and therapy.

Anthroposophic Medicine was established by Dr. (Phd.) Rudolf Steiner from Austria and the Dutch Physician Dr. Ita Wegman in 1920 in Switzerland & Germany. Since then it has been continuously developed further in clinics and hospitals worldwide.   It is an integrative whole medical system that extends conventional medicine with the cognitive methods and results of anthroposophy. Anthroposophic Medicine regulates the interactions of the living body, soul and spirit, according to each person’s biography and social and environmental context. It includes treatments and therapies to activate self healing with medications, nursing, counselling, psychotherapy and anthroposophic arts, movement and body therapies.

Anthroposophic medicine and therapeutics are practiced in over 60 countries around the world. Each health professional is fully credentialed, for example as a doctor, nurse, or massage therapist or art therapist. In addition, these professionals add a holistic, anthroposophic perspective to their care.
